- Within the framework of the agreement between the National Libraries of Lithuania and Poland, a group of professionals from the Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania visited the National Library of Poland. The visit‘s main goal was getting acquainted with organization of the long-term preservation, maintaining currency and access of Poland‘s cultural heritage; the organizational and functional structure of the Library; legislation on the published cultural heritage; bibliographic control; state policy for digitization of the national cultural heritage; and specific programmes. The group made close acquaintance with a major unit of the National Library – the Bibliographic Institute, responsible for the bibliographic control and access of Poland‘s documents.
