- Scientific Internationalism played a determinant role in the beginning of the European contemporary documental movement. In this paper there are studied the theoretical, social and technical elements of the same one that contributed to the emergence of a nascent documentary science. After First World War, scientific internationalism lost his raison d'être, but some of his components continued having a very relevant weight in the evolution of scientific documentation.
