- We present a brief historical review about the presence of women in the archives and libraries of Classical Antiquity, the Middle Ages and the years following the French Revolution. We emphasize on access of women in these teachings in the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), particularly in the Escuela Universitaria de Biblioteconomía y Documentación (College of Library Science), and its incorporation to the labor market, using as example the themselves complutensis libraries and the Biblioteca Nacional de España (National Library of Spain).
