- Objectives. To describe and evaluate the use of Wikipedia links to digitized collections held in libraries, archives and other cultural institutions. Methodology. The study examines all the articles included in the Spanish and Catalan versions of Wikipedia, using a wiki analysis tool. A broad selection of 81 Spanish digital collections of varying sizes is then made. Data are taken from other digitization projects for a comparison of results. Results. The use of links from Wikipedia remains relatively unexploited, with the exception of those to the Miguel de Cervantes Digital Library, where the scale of use is markedly greater. Some specialized collections are more frequently used, but in general there is a lack of attention paid to these collections by the team of Wikipedia editors. This needs to be taken into account in the development of digitization projects in line with the Europeana portal.
