- Through a case study in the Journal Colletion Dr. Fred Kurata, Instituto Politécnico Nacional, we propose the use of a process, descriptive - comparative to evaluate other methodologies designed to assess the physical condition and current level of collections. The use of benchmarking as a method to make informed choices appropriate procedure for evaluating a journal collection through identification of best practices applicable to the subject of study by considering human factors, materials, and needs of the institution.
