- During the last military and civic dictatorship in Argentina, education and culture suffered censorship and repression in different ways, as a result of the policy stated by the military board governing the country. Taking into account that the right to freedom of expression and information is part of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and that librarians are a vital part in the process of access to knowledge, this article focuses on censorship during that historical period in our country, with the aim to reconstruct the mechanisms through which censorship was exercised and to highlight some resistance actions that made it possible that even in dangerous situations books could be found by their readers
