- The article describes the results of a research conducted to determine the e-books use by the higher education community in the United Kingdom, the study was conducted by CIBER, a research group within the School of Library, Archive and Information Studies / SLAIS at the University College London. Nowadays, the design of educational systems in the United Kingdom is based on building a learning society, because of this, it undertakes the learning society. It describes the research: background; objectives; methods and techniques; and results. At the end it includes some conclusions. For gathering the data it was applied a quantitative method and a quantitative technique: the Deep Log Analysis method, and a benchmark survey. A major conclusion is that university communities are demanding and using electronic books.
