  • One of the technological stakes in the coming years is that companies, more and more, host their corporate information in «cloud» environments, that is, storage, access to data and applications online. The development of the electronic book as an option for increasing consumption is no stranger to this situation in which market movements teach about the search for favorable positioning undertaken by both the cultural industries and other companies, as industry standard technology, libraries, mobile phone companies and even tech giants like Google. These companies are developing a merciless fight to prevail and dominate in this market niche. Methodology: An analysis of the proposals «Cloud Computing» and movements around the book business is made, which also involves a complex framework of marketing strategies, proprietary systems, platforms, online sales and distribution, as well as aspects of consumption and reading practices. Results: The e-book market is growing rapidly. This phenomenon is not so evident in our country, but it is in the global context and, especially, in more advanced societies like the U.S., where sales of devices and electronic books are millionaire.
