- Since 2004 the Library of Catalonia (BC) has positioned itself to address the challenge of the new technological paradigm under the mission of becoming a library “open, reliable and useful”. With a view to the forthcoming amendment of the law of legal deposit, the strategy of digital heritage promotion includes actions to publish online the analog collections of BC, and the creation of the Web archive of Catalonia. The last step in the consolidation of this new library policy is a high security preserving tool, based on the international guidelines and initiatives and the experience of the BC itself.
