- INTRODUCTION: Twitter is one of the most popular tools of the web 2.0. From a former study we want to establish the use of this tool by health science libraries/librarians and to show the efectiveness as principal or secundary tool in the information and comunication exchange with their users or between professionals. MATERIAL AND METHODS: The results of the study "Use of Twitter by professionals in health science libraries: a descriptive map" are the starting point to analize more concrete issues as the promotion of Twitter in other services in the library, the full profile of the user's accounts or their ratio follow/followers. We will also consider the presence in Twitter of specific library resources in health science and how professionals use them. RESULTS AND CONCLUSSION: In an age dominated by the ubiquity of users and services, the use of applications belonging to the named 'web 2.0' has greatly increased the interactions between library/professionals and users. Twitter is one of most prominent of those tools, with an ever-increasing presence of services and tools related to the health sector. It should be taken into account, though, that Twitter usage among libraries users is still behind that of the libraries.
