- Introduction: Health technology assessment (HTA) agencies and units need to know how they impact in the area where they perform their actions, since they carry out their work in the decision making process. There are some tools that allow the impact analysis, such as the bibliometric analysis. The indicators used in this analysis are quantitative index useful to measure levels of scientific output of an institution or author, among others. They provide information about the research process, volume, trends, visibility and structure. The indicator that has become an essential part of the evaluation of scientific literature is the impact, through the identification of the number of citations received from subsequent publications. Objective: Assess the impact, in terms of citations, of the reports and articles produced by Osteba. Methodology: Review and identification of reports and scientific articles published by Osteba between the years 2006-2009. Search and analysis of citations received by the papers published, in the ISI Web of Science, Scopus and Google Scholar. Results: This study shows an active editorial policy of Osteba, with an average publications of 14 per year. In this period, more than 50 documents published have been recovered, of which 75% were research reports. The number of citations for these documents was 103; 34 at Scopus, 18 at ISI Wok and 51 at Google Scholar. Articles obtained a higher number of citations. Most citations are coincident in the three bases, although in Google Scholar reports citations were more collected. In general, Osteba publications are cited in national journals (as Gaceta Sanitaria, Atención Primaria y Medicina Clínica). There is a significant presence of citations in the journal of the International Society for Health Technology Assessment (HTAi) the International Journal of Technology Assessment in Health Care. Conclusions: Different approaches have been necessary in searching for documents (individual authors, groups, abbreviations, affiliation, language). There is also a limitation when reviewing the impact of documents published in Spanish, as the search databases are international. The magazine is the place where scientific studies are carried out more advertising. That is why HTA reports, as they are published like gray literature mainly, have less visibility and impact.
