- However, there are other channels for communication of scientific activity, such as institutional publication of monographs and scientific reports and even of journals that collect data activity, or as referring in specific fields of their work. Management is essential for disseminating the publications od research organizations, has therefore developed a publishing program that includes the official publications, is to say, coming from an authority or government or are issued at the expense of it (in the publishing program and also includes informative publications, maps, ... not just scientific) ... The publishing programs centralize the publishing activity proper of the institution and involve a coordination work, standardization and development. In this Program, the BNCS has been operating as Coordinator of the publications of the Institute of Health Carlos III (ISCIII). This communication describes the involvement of the library as coordinator of the editorial program in the ISCIII and representative in front of upper organs of the administration (MICINN, Presidency of Governments...), to constitute the Annual Publishing Program of the General Administration of the State. It is described the editorial process currently established in the ISCIII and participation of the library in each of the stages, the starting point as well as the achievements with this participations and the developments that are to be carry out in the short term. Of all this activity derive, among others, the following results: - Transition from the hard copy to electronic format. - Unification of the publishing work (layout, budget...) in a single supplier. - Increased virtual visibility through a unified portal of publications. - Greater flexibility in the adoption of new formats of edition. - Standarization of the corporate image of publications. Conclusion: the library simplified the administrative procedures, achieved a clearly understanding of costs and reduced them.
