- Training of information professionals in the twenty-first century is facing challenges and joints, which, not being treated properly appears to create a state of despondency personal, professional and academic. This context of professional practice requires us to raise awareness of this state of things, analyze it and put forward some proposed solutions. The problem is not simple as different actors converge and scenarios, some of which can be controlled. The situation may be critical at a time which has been used (and abused) terms such as information societies and knowledge, to which the information professionals seem to attend only as spectators and not as main actors.
