- One of the conditions of the Project of Preservation on Long-term that develops in the Centro de Información del Centro Atómico Constituyentes (CICAC, Information Center at the Constituyentes Atomic Center) is that the files produced in the origin of the process of digitization, contain metadata of its own description and that they can be automatically extracted when documents are processing with a digital library software. For this, were studied the structure and funcionalities of the XMP files wich are contained in PDF documents, and were created consecutive colections of proves in Greenstone 2.72. Analyzing XML files provided by that software, we concluded that it didn’t do a correct extraction of the metadata contained in the documents. One of the specialists of Greenstone contributed solving the problem, creating a new plug-in, wich fulfill the required function.
