- The difficulty in preparing references is perceived among students and teachers. The problem lies in understanding the various ways of applying the rules of ABNT NBR 6023/2002. The aim of this work is to develop a computational tool that addresses the preparation of references to documents containing ISBN. Other tools with similar functionality (OttoBib, and EasyBib MORE) were studied and analyzed. In this project proposes a conversion process from the identification of the ISBN number of bibliographic records in MARC 21 Bibliographic. The process of conversion to the format NBR 6023 explores the advantages of representation of bibliographic information according to the original XML markup language. It is hoped that this tool meet the needs of students and teachers regarding the preparation of references, bibliography. In future, we intend to improve it in order to include other formats of bibliographic records.
