- They get up some historical topics about the demands and justifications for a code or Luso-Brazilian Brazilian cataloging. The need for a national code is based on the adjustments required to the sociocultural characteristics of user communities. It presents a definition of cataloging code. We address some critical aspects of the new Anglo-American code, the RDA. Finally, we present new arguments and proposal for a cataloging code in the Portuguese language.
