- Including digitalizing policies has become one of the priorities of cultural policies as a whole. Internet has revolutionized how culture is created and disseminated. The Department of Culture and the Media (DCiMC) of the Catalan government has developed a series of digitalization for implementation by all units of the department, in order to make a significant part of Catalan heritage available online. The projects presented deal with digitalization but also with the creation of theme portals using these digitalized cultural objects, web search engines of cultural digital objects, and so on. Within the scope of its powers, the DCiMC also provides support to institutions and companies in the cultural sector interested in carrying out digitalization projects.
