- The objective of this study is to come to know the current state of research on the politics of information in the Latin American region through an analysis of the written production. Toward this end one database, INFOBILA (Information and Latin American Library Science), was analyzed. This database yielded results regarding the origin and production of the writings in this subject area, beginning with the assigned geographic descriptors and the authors interested in this area of study. Also, it was possible to verify the topics related to “the politics of information” in order to obtain significant documents on the subject and at the same time to detect the interest of the authors / professionals in the subject area through their writings.
