- This paper present, based on a documentary re-search and content analysis, a chronological journey through the reality of Ibero-America regarding the topic of information literacy –INFOLIT– since 1985 when presented in literature first work on the topic, until our days when different work reported on the inclusion of information literacy into the curriculum and the use of e-learning platforms and Web 2.0, such as content and medium for teaching and learning processes involving information competencies. For the presentation of that journey and the stages in the development of information literacy that are pro-posed, uses tools of the timelines and geo-representation maps of content to display in a more didactic some perspectives, milestones and represen-tative cases of Information Literacy in Ibero-America the past 25 years.
