- The InfoCenter is the central contact point of the Library of the Vienna University of Economics and Business concerning all questions about the search for literature and subject related information. The reference service is provided by librarians from all departments of the library. Due to the large number of participants, it is difficult to provide this service at a steady and up-to-date quality level. The reference librarians cannot access the required information fast and seamless in every case, because partly this information is stored in print format, electronically, or it is tacit knowledge. In many cases, the timeliness of the information is unknown. In light of that, we analysed the information that is already used, the information needs, and several information technologies in order to provide a better service. Eventually, we decided to implement a wiki. This paper describes how we assessed the status quo ante, the definition of criteria, the selection and evaluation of tools, and experiences concerning the set-up and customisation. Finally, some impressions of the use of the wiki are presented.
