- Many changes have occured in Public Libraries in France during the last 30 years : new buildings or heritage rehabilitations, diversification of the library offer, in terms of collections as well as in terms of services proposed to patrons. Digital technologies have arrived as a disruption in this evolution. This article deals with the impacts of the digital world on french public libraries, particularly as far as the librarian's missions, the librarian's profession and the political stakes are concerned.
