- The present paper departs from a general overview on the concept of quality and the principles of Total Quality, as an essential theoretical framework to quality management in libraries. Once the notions and aims of library evaluation have been tackled, as well as the indicators of library services, our paper concludes with the evaluation and the certification of quality in Spanish University libraries and a review of the latest international trends on the subject.
