- The present paper starts by dealing with the concept of “collection management” in a wider sense. We go on to review two basic tasks which are part of the general process leading to the building and maintenance of a library collection aimed at suiting the needs of its users: selection and acquisition. Finally it deals with the assessment of collections as well as diverse evaluation methods.
