- Open Access is the new model of scientific communication in the age of Internet, encouraging the free access to scientific research, and introducing a sort of democratization of knowledge. The institutional repository is a collection of digital resources, managed by one or more universities and attained with public or private money within the institutional activity by researchers, faculties, PhD, and others. The Italian academic environment introduced techniques for research assessment, evaluating digital works as well. It seems important that universities apply clear policies and strategies in order to support and disseminate scientific research products.
