- One of the most prominent means of cooperation among libraries is the practice of interlibrary loan (ILL). Socioeconomic conditions and the unforeseen growth of knowledge make cooperation between libraries imperative for the speedy solution to problems. In this paper, first a theoretical framework for cooperation in general, cooperation between libraries, and ILL is outlined. Subsequently various aspects of the ILL services of the Bilkent University Library are examined and statistics related to those services are evaluated. Finally, certain suggestions are made in this connection
