- The present work analyses the impact of electronic edition in university libraries from four different points of view: collections, spaces, tools and resources. On the other hand, bibliographic information is not exclusive of ILS, rather, a great variety of systems are being used inside library environments and outside of them. It is therefore absolutely necessary to develop interaction mechanisms among different components, which should articulate and collaborate transparently with each other, without the user becoming affected. Markup languages and metadata will make it possible to reach such interconnectivity thus allowing access to electronic resources.
