- The fusion of the theoretical foundations of the data mining and texts, the discovery of knowledge in databases and the Bioinformatic with the bibliometrics concepts, has penetrated into the study of not bibliographical biological databases. Bibliometrics, as discipline that takes up office as his raw material to the information, is a valid tool to study the content of almost databases. This is possible because it rests for the analyses on mathematical and statistical formulae (Algorithms) that allow to relate reports of an enormous set of information and to discover a new knowledge. That its possible with databases like the GenBank, BD Structure and the BD Taxonomy (all produced by the National Center for Biotechnology Information, NCBI). These BD are constructed by specific fields like key words, authors of the proteins, references to the articles or the articles in Medline who mention it, etc. In this study bibliometrics indicators were applied in the analysis of the proteins that compose the genome of the mycobacterium tuberculosis specifically the linked ones to the proteins of the external membrane, there were in use the indicators of co-occurrence of words and the indicators of frequency. There linked themselves the results of the bases of information entrezProteins to the MedLine database.
