- The stage for information, libraries and library profession is unique and has become a global trend. Globalization implies the adoption of rules, standardized and shared procedures. International efforts should be primarily an ethical commitment, as well as scientific and professional, because more and more the international level determines the national level. The most serious danger is to use the leit-motif of the Italian anomaly: the Italian tendency to consider Italian librarians and linìbrary profession different for their history and traditions, and thus be exempted from the comparison and collaboration.
