The objective is to put online and/or link together the digital collections held by Cyprus libraries, archives, museums and audiovisual organizations – books and periodicals, and thousands of hours of film and video covering the entire of Cyprus’ diverse history and culture. Kypriana and its objectives attempt to formulate a framework for the successful implementation, growth and impact of the digital library, as well as, to highlight the inter-, multi-disciplinary and complex challenges of such a unique and collaborative effort. Issues like copyrights, safety of the objects, hosting of the digital forms of objects and metadata creation and harvesting are the main concerns of the object holders.
