  • Libraries, apart from their utilitarian role for science, culture and for the whole civilization, inspire artists and collectors. From collectors’ point of view, the notion of library – known as "hospital for souls" or a "pleasure for cultural spheres" – is a very capacious one, which refers not only to objects collected in libraries but also to people involved in library activities and processes performed by libraries, including for example actions (also international) aimed at reconstructing libraries after natural disasters. Collectors collect various objects from postcards, stamps, bookplates to graphics, illustrations, paintings or even models or original furniture and other items of equipment used in libraries. Collections related to libraries are not only attractive, but also can support education and research. Collectors themselves feel satisfaction both due to the prizes they win on various exhibitions and to the fact, that they can disseminate knowledge on libraries.
