- The services provided by libraries of research centers at present beyond the traditional recruiting resources, interlibrary loan or reference service, and these are added other, between those who believe they deserve special mention those related to monitoring and evaluation of scientific production, which mainly aim to end the bibliometric studies and reports. Experience has shown that to meet this need by providing a support service to management and research that is efficient is essential to develop a database of scientific productivity and updated to include references to all publications of the staff research and other scientific services or technical units. Each of these references are added other bibliometric data as well as the FI or deciles and quartiles by subject area, as well as affiliation and collaboration data. Furthermore it may also have each of the pdfs, but their use can often be restricted to the domestic sphere by rights issues. Although we believe the ideal is the development of an ad hoc database, it is also possible to use other resources such as bibliographic and some managers in the market. In short, the fact that scientific production service has a database of these features is essential to respond quickly to quality and appropriate to carry out bibliometric studies on scientific production center. It also enables also provide documentary support and facilitate the updating of curricula and other reports of their own researches.
