- The experience of the Universitat Jaume I Library is explained as a multipurpose service, in which, different professionals of the information: documentalists, librarians and archivists work in a coordinated way. Beyond technical treatment and methodological differences of the several types of documents that exist in the university, the University Library is conceived as a centralised and unique service that manage the information and documentation of the institution, making up the services of Archive, Library and Documentation Centers (European, Recovery of the Local Historic Memory, etc). The experience us proves that it is possible to carry out functions specific to Library, General Archive and Documentation Centers, and, at the same time, developing common projects. We achieve rationalize to the maximum our resources, so much human beings, as economic and of infrastructure, and, the most important, to offer a close, efficient and quality service to the user.
