- Effective information services are crucial to library users’ satisfaction. In the author’s opinion, an interactive virtual advisor can be used to improve online information and library services in a few ways. Distance communication with users supplemented with the help of “intelligent avatar-librarian” – a software human-like creature based on artificial intelligence, natural language analysis, and use of multimedia, visualization and speech synthesis – can be more effective and friendlier for library users.
