- The relevant role that the University of Madrid has played in the Spanish History has been recorded in its archives. These files are an evidence of the conflicts that the University has gone through during the 20th century. This communication will focus on two moments of its recent evolution: the Spanish Civil War and the students’ riots in the fifties and the sixties. However, the documents have also been victims of these conflicts. The records of the Faculty of Philosophy were partly destroyed during the bombings of Madrid in the War.
