  • Bibliometriy is a means to locate the production of a country in the world, an institution in relation to his country and scientists in relation to their own communities. Consumption indicators are a tool for decision making in defining the systems and services most appropriate for information users, and hence the development of collections management of a library. communities. This study analyzes the use of scientific information by the researchers of INIDEP. For the analysis of this indicator we have worked with the online database SCOPUS, access granted by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation (ex SECYT). The search was limited to documents published between 2001 and 2006, analyzed the references of 97 items, which represent 46% of the total 212 items for that period. We recognized consumption trends of various publications and linguistic ability, the rate of obsolescence and isolation. Among the results it is showed that 90% of journal titles they use, are included in the collection of the Library of INIDEP and 13.3% of all cited sources belong to the National Bibliography.
