- Information retrieval system PEDAGOG – database in the field of pedagogy. The present state and concept of further development. The information retrieval system PEDAGOG, the first Polish database in the field of pedagogy, created by the workers of OIN of the Central Library of Opole University, was discussed during the presentation. The database includes pedagogy of guardianship and tutorage, primary education, pre-school education. The changes made from the beginning of work on the system in 1993 until 2008 were presented. Initially, the database functioned in ISIS system, and in 2000 it was modernized and made accessible to all the Internet users on the Library website. Daniel Łaś created new software based on SQL. In September 2007, the PEDAGOG database was moved to ALEPH system as the next bibliographic database of the Library of Opole University. The present method of uploading descriptions to the database, formats used to saving the data and current statistics of the data registered in PEDAGOG were discussed. Finally plans for the further development of the database were discussed.
