- (English) The University of Antioquia is found in these moments in the experience of one of the most significant processes for its present and institutional future, since its current development plan 1996-2005 "Toward the Century of the Lights" is arriving at its final year of execution, which implies that all the University (rulers, executive, employed, professors, students, graduates) and the society in general —to which is owed like public educational organization, that is to say, socially responsible,— they are obliged to carry out in final form a so much, integral evaluation of the achievements and difficulties (results) during this period, as of the processes developed that they carry to you said results. This article will seek therefore, to be a voice that will expose some useful elements for said process of evaluation and construction, being centered an area of great significance: the new information and communication technologies —ICT— and the education (education in new technologies / information literacy and digital literacy; by means of new education technologies / "virtual education" or and e-learning); which already has been kept in mind in different levels of the current institutional development plan and of the last Plans of Action, and that at the same time, will be respected still more in the next Plans, keeping in mind the large changes of the current society, of the call "society of the information and the knowledge", that although not fair nor homogeneous in the time and the space (that is its great threat), they are already a reality, they are the tendency that will determine the future.
