- The primary aim of this presentation is to exhibit the activities regarding user instruction in the Library & Information Center, University of Patras, Greece. Initiated by the exhibition of these activities and the identification of the interventions occurred through the application of EPEAEK project, it is attempted an exploration of the main problems that user instruction programs face. These problems are traced in several areas, such as content and services, personnel, communication with the served community, relations with other agents, etc. These problems run through all the range of phases of a user instruction programme, from planning and execution to assessment and adaptation. Among the results of this presentation is the ascertainment that the problems that academic libraries face are multifaceted and interlinked, something that requires a generic and comprehensive approach for their resolution.
