- This work reflects on the development of educational projects in higher education institutions libraries in the so-called "Knowledge Society". The globalization process and the new information technologies redefined the action of the contemporary library, turning it into a teaching and learning space, as well as leading those who make use of it, to a true "learning to learn”. This work was developed with the purpose of carrying out actions in the library in question, in order to make a better use of its spaces and services. It was carried out in a library of a higher education institution located in the East of the city of São Paulo, making use of the researchaction methodology. The actions consisted of educational projects developed in the library throughout the year. All the actions were evaluated during the process through indicators previously established. The results showed that the work was successful after verifying, by means of cultural and educational actions, that the library can extend its space of actions as well as provide a better use of its space by the academic community.
