- This paper was developed based on cinematographic images that show facts concerning censorship and book destruction. It deals with issues related to the knowledge destruction and the necessity of knowledge production, indicating in the scientific literature and in the cinematographic fiction, facts that show books discrimination in certain times. The analysis uses the movies “Al Massir”, “Giordano Bruno” and “L'Oeuvre au Noir”, pointing out the relation between books, freedom of speech and social order.
