- The bean supply chain has now a free-of-charge information system on the internet to meet the needs of farmers and technical assistance professionals. This work reports on Embrapa’s initiative to create an on-line technological information system on bean production. Software tools were used to create a Knowledge Tree, contents editing and graphic visualization (hyperbolic tree), as well as information process methodologies developed by Embrapa. The knowledge tree is based on bean supply chain patterns and the contents include important recommendations and information on technology developed mainly by Embrapa Rice and Bean. This new service made available to growers and technicians a substantial amount of technological information on the several components of the bean supply chain published in the Embrapa Information Agency website. The objective of this work is to contribute to the improvement of the technology transfer process, making the Brazilian agribusiness more competitive and promoting the socialization of knowledge- Embrapa’s strategic agribusiness solutions targets.
