- The NTUA Central Library offers an Institutional Repository (IR) service combined with an ETD e-submission system. The e-submission system developed from scratch by library staff members currently operates in a pilot period. This paper’s main objectives are: a) the IR service pilot period evaluation, focusing on the e-submission process, b) the service capacity evaluation, both in technical and human resources terms, c) the service improvement and broadness to all university departments and, finally, d) the self-archiving and open access concept promotion. The survey was conducted by means of a web-based questionnaire, on the e-submission users’ population. The key results were posted online, as part of the IR service, and are updated in real time.
