- The author pays special attention to the significance of information resources available at the European Documentation Center, deposit libraries offered by the Main Library of the Cracow University of Economics and its digital library (which is presently under construction) for scholars. The organization of scholarly communication within the library and information system of the Cracow University of Economics is described. The author presents special databases produced by well-known companies and bought by the library as well as services and databases produced by the librarians themselves. It is demonstrated how the access to resources mentioned before makes it possible to use the latest world scientific achievements and up-to-date information from selected scholarly disciplines. Furthermore, it is also indicated how proper organization of scholarly communication fosters scholarly achievements of library users.
