- The press as an industry is being transformed from top to bottom into a medium of multiple convergent channels. Today journalistic content has diversified into several formats, from text and graphics to audio and video, and is being distributed over broadband networks. The new channels of digital distribution (cable, satellite and Internet) will allow newspapers and other types of mass media to reach all information market segments. This article provides an overview of the major changes that have brought about this sector’s technological reconversion in recent years.
