- This presentation deals with the Resource Description Framework (RDF), a metadata model based on XML that was presented in this conference like a flexible standard for structuring the information of XXI century's Digital Libraries. It describes the context and principal features for this metadata format, as well as its posibilities and potencial development to enhance information retrieval in Internet. Some years after this paper(2004) RDF became a W3C recommendation and it is more and more used to describe digital objects in particular digital libraries or to create particular application profiles.
