- University libraries are institutions giving services to provide informations according to the requirement of students and faculty main members of university. Developments in the information technologies cause to increase responsibilies of university library and to extend its services. Web based learning model is a new model that continues learning process from off-campus largely. This model particularly developed on universities and businesses areas. Therefore university library should get adequacy to provide all kind of information source needed web based learning systems. ‘Guidelines for Distance Learning Library Services’ published by Association of Colledge and Research Library at 2000 leaded to appear developments in this matter. After this date it is observed that university libraries planed their services in accordance with recommendations written in this guide all of the world. Advanced services improved for e-lerning programs in the US and European universities have been attracted attention especially for a few years. Because of importance of subject, in this paper firstly developments about distance learning library services are examined. Afterwards samples of advanced application in this matter are given and university libraries in Turkey are evaluated.
