- Information and communication technologies play a critical role in Library and Information Science today. This is reflected in the demands for highly trained professionals that can meet the new society, market and user needs, and that all of these can take advantage of all the opportunities Tics can bring in search, retrieval, organization, storage and dissemination of information. Given this reality, institutions that train future librarians have to respond critically to such claims. This has implied, in recent years, that many colleges, schools and faculties of library and information science in the world have been taking into account changes to their curricula. The Escuela Interamericana de Bibliotecologia of the University of Antioquia, Medellín has not been apart from this situation. Due to this it has made permanent changes to the content of the courses two years ago, which finally led to the establishment of a new version of its curriculum. This paper briefly systematizes the new experiences of training the future librarians from the EIB between 2007-2008, from 12 courses (undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing education) in the Technology curriculum core and supported by Moodle as a learning platform that facilitates collaborative learning and development of technologies to be informative, skills-driven and challenging in this changing society.
