- Using ISI Essential Science Indicators, the publications and citations of Turkey is analyzled for the period 1997-2006. The develoment of internationally co-authored papers is discussed. Turkey’s recent scientific performance is compared with Spain and Poland according to different science and technology indicators. The importance of bibliometry in research evaluation is emphasized and some critics about the ISI impact factor is listed.
