- The video production industry is currently working through an intermediate period between videotape-based and digital production methodologies. This confluence of old and new technologies presents numerous challenges both in the management and retrieval of media content assets. This paper summarizes theoretical issues and examines how the Media Content Management Group at Microsoft Studios has integrated the timely and accurate collection of metadata into the larger video production workflow.
