Daftar Isi:
- The quality of patient care is strictly connected to the quality of the related services offered to health personnel by the information specialists and clinical libraries. The health professional’s information needs require a good level of competence in searching biomedical databases in order to achieve satisfactory results. The health professionals’ main concern is the care of the patient, so they have little time to dedicate to learning the complexities of the language used to search the various databases and resources available on the internet. The clinical librarians are the best experts in this field and can give a valuable support to the health professional staff, both in the form of continuing education and in finding an answer to a specific clinical problem. The collaboration between the clinical librarian and the health care staff can produce excellent results, optimizing time and resources to the patient’s benefit. This article will review some templates (PICO, PICOTT and PESICO) currently available worldwide, that can be helpful in starting a bibliographical search and some considerations about their characteristics so they can be used in a most effective way. The Author also presents and discusses the template she has developed for the Azienda Ospedaliero - Universitaria “S. Maria della Misericordia” di Udine.
